About SPARKLING!

As mentioned earlier, SPARKLING! is an online TCG dedicated to showcasing the art of various cards and visuals in idol, idol-related, and idol-adjacent games. What we mean by this is, while idol-focused/centric series are the main subject, we also allow certain series that have some kind of relation to that theme, or are often grouped together with idol-centric series because of similar themes and/or features! Generally, this essentially includes–but is not limited to–other series in the music/entertainment genre, but only if they meet certain requirements.

Eligible series that can be featured in the TCG and decks must meet ALL the following general requirements:
  • has a relation to idols or performers of some sort (such as bands, singers/musicians, actors, etc), and
  • has a game release that also has collectible cards (such as rhythm, card training/character raising, etc or any combination of said types)
However, the actual images used in decks are not limited to just the card art used in games! If a series meets the above requirements, then in addition to the card art in-game, we also allow promotional images and other official art to be used such as collaboration and IRL event visuals, album/CD cover art, and more (that fits under this category). Fan art and other fanmade-creations are not allowed, unless you are the original artist/owner of said art (or otherwise have explicit approval from the original artist to use said art)!

If you're ever unsure about what is allowed (series or image wise), just ask! You can also see what series we already have decks and donations of, to get an idea of what we may allow as an acceptable/eligible series. Worst case scenario, we'll simply contact you about what is/isn't allowed!

TCG OPERATIONS

Because SPARKLING! is mash up of a mini/automated and full/manual TCG with an emphasis on building a community of sorts among our members, we make use of both site forms/scripts and automation, as well as a forum and Discord for other portions of the TCG that require more manual effort and general communication.

While we plan to have regular weekly updates with new decks, wishes, freebies, etc and other activities or features that a full TCG would have, we will be relying a lot more on the automated features that Stack (the script this TCG is running on) provides! This includes having rewards for some things sent to your site account where you can pick them up and have them saved to your site logs, among other features/abilities.

Updates will be automatically posted on our update days as a placeholder, where we will edit in actual news and freebies (if any) once we're able to, but the new release and granted wishes will be ready to take once it goes up. Games should also be automatically updated when the update is posted but always double check the date in a game set's header, to see if it's actually been updated or not BEFORE playing! This date does affect whether a game can be played or not, as explained below:
Important to note: Games will block you from playing them again if you already have for that week's update, per the original script's code. If you play a game that is being updated that same day (for the new week) then you will not be able to play that game again for the new week once the update is posted, because the script will think you already played for that day regardless - so do make sure if you're someone who usually plays games late/the day of, that you remember to finish those at least 1 day before the new weekly update!
In addition, password gate games may not be updated automatically unless we're able to set up rounds in advance. If you click on a password game and see it's the same round as last time it was updated, please do not play it yet! We will edit the update on-site and make an announcement in our Discord once it is ready to play.

UPDATE GUIDELINES

We posts weekly updates on Saturdays and these will be on-site, not restricted or exclusive to Discord — although we will post notifications there once an update is ready, along with quick updates/announcements that will later be compiled in the next site update.

Weekly updates will typically always include new decks being released, member wishes that have been granted for everyone to take as freebies, and news or info we want to share with everyone. However, there might also be other freebies we give out (for a specific reason/event/occasion or none at all!), Site Milestones (our version of event cards), event announcements, and more!

We also post monthly updates on the 1st of a new month unless it overlaps or there is a weekly update set to be posted within 1-2 day of it, in which case we'll try combining the two into one and post it on the closest weekly update day — but whenever this occurs, we will usually inform everyone in advance! Sometimes we may post the two updates separately as well, even if they're within 1-2 days of each other; it'll depend on the circumstances!

Combined updates, if they happen though, will include both the regular content of a weekly update along with the regular content of a monthly update which usually consists of additional news and info about the new/coming month as well as the monthly Site Milestone, and maybe even freebies and event announcements sometimes too!

UPDATE FREEBIES

Whenever there is something to take from an update (new cards, wishes/freebies, etc), these update freebies will NOT EXPIRE unless specifically stated otherwise. However, members can only take from updates made ON THE SAME DAY or AFTER they have joined; you cannot take from updates made before that date! Currently, there are no specific member statuses or TCG skills/coupons that allow this, but there may be a special occasion where we allow this within limits.

Releases, wishes, and some freebies will also come with site forms that you can fill out with your choices - doing so will post what you take as a new comment to the update the release/wish/freebie is from + save the choices to your site logs. Please note that you can only fill out this form ONCE and it must be completely filled out when you do!

  • If you are only taking some new release cards and/or parts of the wish/freebie at a time, you can manually comment and edit it as you take things, then fill out the form afterwards once you've taken everything! (This will likely double post what you took in the same comment but you can edit it accordingly.)
  • You also do NOT have to comment with what you take at all, at any point, as commenting is not required (unless otherwise stated) however we do recommend it as a form of archive and back up should you ever forget what you took and/or lose your logs.
