Cards & Mastering

At SPARKLING! we have two kinds of deck types, and two types of individual cards. Decks will always be 25 cards each, and can be classified as either a Solo Stage or a Collab Stage while individual cards can be either a Producer Card or a Milestone! Decks and individual cards also have different card worth, as well as different ways of mastering.

Don't forget to also check off the option to display decks as a puzzle when adding decks to collecting—even the Collab Stage (Themed Type) decks—as all cards including the standalone/individual cards already have transparent spacing included in the card itself to take that option into account!

As we are primarily a puzzle TCG, most decks will not have the deck name on every single card so we recommend making sure that your trade post has the filenames displayed/accessible in addition to the card images! This can be done by providing a text list of the card filenames for easier searching, adding hover/alt/title text to each card containing its filename, or some other method.

If you're using eTCG, the hover/alt/title text will already be done for you by using any of the card/item sections to display your cards/items due to the script's coding, so you won't need to do this yourself! Additionally, there are various eTCG mods available (check or ask in our Discord if interested) to be added to your trade post that will do all this work for you.

SOLO STAGES (WORTH 1)

These are the TCG's version of a regular deck, and will primarily be puzzle decks of individual card art from accepted games that feature only one (1) character! The deck will be of a single image broken up into multiple card pieces that must be all collected, in order to display the full image.

COLLAB STAGES (WORTH 1)

These are what you could call our special decks, however that does NOT mean they are more rare to obtain! Both types of Collab Stage decks will be available in the regular randomizers at the same rate that Solo Stage decks are, but due to there likely being less Collab Stage decks overall in comparison to Solo Stages, it may seem like they don't appear as often.

Additionally, Collab Stages are further divided into 2 types: unit or themed. While Unit Collabs can be claimed and donated like a regular deck, Themed Collabs are only made through one of our games, Collab Stage, where members contribute images based on a theme instead!

Unit Decks

  • also known as: Unit Stages, Unit Collab Stages, Unit Collabs
Much like regular Solo Stage decks, these are also primarily be puzzle decks - however, these decks can feature two (2) or more characters in addition to featuring both card art from accepted games OR other official art and promotional images! Their deck and card template are the same as Solo Stage decks, which you can see an example of below and by looking through our released and upcoming decks.

Themed Decks

  • also known as Themed Stages, Themed Collab Stages, Themed Collabs
On the other hand, these are decks containing standalone cards centered around certain themes like specific card sets from games, holidays, etc. The images used in each card can be card art, other official art, and/or promotional images in addition to not having a limit on how many characters can be featured; it depends on the crop and how many fit into the template!

PRODUCER CARDS (WORTH 0)

These are basically the equivalent of other TCG's member cards! Each producer card is made to the member's preference, from image choice to crop and colour requests (if any), then finished with their name added to it so they can be traded with other members.

(Example & Filler)

At the moment, players can only have one producer card ever, which they receive after joining and requesting their Starter Pack Bonus on the forums!

However, players cannot change the producer card later on (ie. to change images) so make sure you're happy with the image you pick and after you receive the graphic once it's made. We'll make changes after the initial request but further changes, unless it's an error that needs fixing, will not be allowed!

MILESTONES (WORTH 0)

And these are the event card equivalent in other TCGs! They come in two types: Site and Player Milestones, and are made for every new month, special occasions, holidays, and other milestones or things we want to commemorate.

(Example, Site Milestone, Player Milestone)

Site Milestones are site-wide and can typically be taken by any player as long as they were a member of the TCG when it was posted. Some may be restricted to certain requirements or in the case of monthly site milestones, can only be taken during that current month, so do take note of any instructions provided when they're given out!
Monthly milestones in particular are planned to feature a character (or multiple, if in the same image) who celebrate a birthday that month - which can be suggested by members in the Milestones Suggestions thread on the forums!
Player Milestones are member-specific because only that member will obtain the milestone, as they are normally custom-made for them as a reward for accomplishing certain milestones in the TCG! They're more for personal display only, and can't be used in Special Masteries like Site Milestones can.

MASTERING DECKS & INDIVIDUAL CARDS

Solo & Collab Stage decks can be mastered only if you collect every single card in the deck, and turn it in through the mastery form in your account! Doing so will earn you 2 choice cards, 5 random cards, 1 EXP (per mastery) + that deck's master badge, like the examples you can see below.

Individual cards meanwhile can be mastered in sets of 10 cards: either 10 producer cards OR 10 site milestones (no player milestones). You can't complete a set by mixing both; only one or the other! Additionally, once you use a producer card or milestone in a set then you cannot use that same card in another set at all.

Each set of 10 individual cards is called a Special Mastery, which can also be turned in through the Special Mastery form in your account! Doing so will earn you 10 random cards, 5 ribbons, 2 EXP per mastery but there is no master badge for special masteries. Instead, each card in a mastered set will be added to your profile's gallery for display purposes!

SPARKING (UPCOMING FEATURE)

Heads up! This is an upcoming feature that will be added to the TCG at a later date.
Some parts of this guide may be broken or become inaccurate once officially implemented so please keep this in mind when reading this section!

A common feature in gacha games is some kind of "sparking" feature where you can usually pick or guarantee a specific character/card after doing a certain amount of pulls on the gacha banner. Although we use the same name for this activity, the only similarity is the aspect of focusing on a specific character/card - or in this case, a specific deck!

As such, Sparking is an activity where players can be rewarded for remastering a single deck of any type, many times! Once you reach a certain number of remasteries of a deck—and thus, the specific spark level—you unlock a special master badge of it to show off your accomplishment, along with a bonus prize. If you achieve a "rainbow spark" on a deck, you even get a custom-made Site Milestone that everyone will be able to take in an update to celebrate too!

SPARK LEVELREQUIREMENTS*REWARD
Silver ()Remaster a deck 5 times totalTBA
Gold ()Remaster a deck 10 times totalTBA
Diamond ()Remaster a deck 15 times totalTBA
Rainbow ()Remaster a deck 25 times totalTBA + a custom Site Milestone
* Remastering means every additional mastery of a specific deck, not including the first/initial mastery of the deck!

Do note that the requirements are TOTAL REMASTERIES, not additional remasteries on top of the remasteries already made! If you've already remastered a deck 5 times and reached "silver spark" level, you only need to remaster it 5 more times to achieve the "gold spark" level for a total of 10 remasteris overall.

You can also see how each spark level has it's own pixel icon; the special master badge you receive for reaching a certain spark level will be the same image as the original deck’s master badge but will come with a different pixel on it that denotes the spark level!

CLAIMING REWARDS

To claim your rewards, please read the Sparking Information thread where you will find additional details as well as the form you'll use to submit your claim. Rewards will then be sent to your account once a staff member verifies your masteries; once you receive it, please request the correct spark level master badge in this thread so we can make and drop it off for you!

If you've reached Rainbow Spark for a deck then please fill out the provided Sparking Milestone form in the the Member Achievements (Site Milestones) thread, once your form for that spark level has been approved by a staff member and you've received the reward. The Site Milestone will then be available in the next update after its made (whenever that may be) for everyone to grab!
